Location: Tai Hang
ABOUT THE CUSTOMER
Carolyn & Aaron are newly wed and first time home owner. Carolyn approached us to create her first home with her husband where they can come home and relax.
PROJECT INTRO
Working on our co-founder Aaron & his partner Carolyn's new home was a fun and natural one. The newly wedded couple has quite different tastes and styles when it comes to interior design, Carolyn enjoys colors and patterns while Aaron is drawn to Scandinavian minimalism.
Our experienced home stylists stepped in and came up with a design plan that satisfied both of their needs, a home that’s airy, easy on the eyes yet vibrant and cozy.
LIVING ROOM
for cozy company
Aaron and Carolyn’s new home comes with a diamond shaped living room, which might seem tricky to some, but for us, it is the perfect opportunity to bring out the openness this design can offer.
To keep the flow of Carolyn & Aaron’s home airy and spacious, we have placed a dining table set on one side as dining area, sofa and round coffee tables on the other as living area, subtly distinguishing the two spaces with a large Persian rug while bringing a sense of togetherness to the aesthetic with selective home accessories.
We combined both of Aaron and Carolyn's tastes by mixing subtleness with a pop of colors, pairing a simple greige (yes it’s a word) sofa with a stylish rattan floor lamp in the living area, styled with soft blue and yellow cushions, a patterned rug and a set of nesting walnut wood coffee tables to create a stylish yet down-to-earth living space without looking clutter.
DINING ROOM
FOR entertaining in style
Stylist's Note For the dining room, Carolyn and Aaron wanted to create a cosy environment where guests can dine, drink, chat and relax at the same time. We opted for an oak wood extendable dining table, mixed and matched with different seating like wooden bench, rattan stool and chairs for any occasions. Finishing the room with some of Carolyn’s favourite art work as well as a frosted glass hanging pendant ceiling lamp to go with the farmhouse aesthetic the couple favoured.
